FMW Feedback

Nothing makes me happier than receiving these messages... Enchilada lasagna: GONE! Might be the best recipe yet! My kids and I loved the Rustic Chicken...I was worried the 9 year old wouldn't like the "wine" but he did. I added zucchini with the mushrooms and he ate those, too! We ate the meatloaf for dinner last night w/ baked potatoes and carrots. It was SO GOOD! We ate it again for lunch today and it was just as good leftover. We’re going to have the Rosemary lemon chicken tomorrow. These slow cooker meals are absolutely amazing! Thanks!!! We had the enchiladas last night and they were a HUGE hit. I made the Hawaiian Chicken (fake chicken, in my case) into a stir fry and it was delicious! The shrimp kabobs were epic. I added zucchini and grilled them. I made baked potatoes as a side and it was one of the best meals I have had since I was in Vegas and the fish I ate had been flown in from Italy that morning. THAT good! I am so sad there were no leftovers! Thank you my wonderful FMW customers - you make my day! If you would like to feed your family meals that receive rave reviews - come to my Freezer Meal Workshops or host a Wildtree Tasting!

No GMO's in Wildtree Products!

After reading the impressive list of nutritional qualities, it is easy to see why Wildtree products can be said to have “side benefits” instead of the “side effects” that come with eating products containing MSG and other preservatives, hydrogenated oils, artificial food dyes and high fructose corn syrup.

Wildtree does not use any ingredients that are irradiated or are genetically modified.

So, why is this important?

What is irradiation anyhow?
It is the process of exposing foods – spices, fruits, vegetables or meats, to radiation with the purpose of killing bacteria, insects, parasites or to delay spoilage, sprouting or ripening. On the surface this may seem like a good idea, however, opponents of this unnatural process are fearful of unknown long term effects as well as the destruction of nutrients such as Vitamin C and B vitamins. Marion Nestle, the author of “What to Eat” states in her book: “Unless their labels state otherwise, I assume that commercial dried herbs and spices have been irradiated electronically or with the use of radioisotopes, even though I have never found a box of them bearing a radura label.” By law, irradiated foods are supposed to be labeled with a symbol, the radura, which looks like a flower and the statement ”treated with irradiation.”

With Genetically Modified (GM) foods, the genes have been deliberately manipulated to give the plants some desirable trait such as having a resistance to insects or viruses. GM foods are supposed to be labeled voluntarily with PLU (product look up) codes that begin with 8 but there is no regulation that states a food manufacturer has to label a food as genetically modified. Just as with irradiated foods, opponents of this process argue that we have no idea what impact these genetically engineered foods are going to have on us down the road.

We are seeing and do know, however, the devastating health effects of high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup, HFCS, which the food manufacturers have worked way too hard to convince us is healthy – is a processed, “man made” substance that is metabolized, like fat, far more rapidly than any other sugar or sweetener. When we eat real sugar, our bodies produce leptin hormones that let us know when we are full. But when we eat HFCS – because it is a synthetic substance that doesn’t act the same way in the body – unlike real sugar – it does not trigger leptin so our sweet tooth never gets satisfied.

The average person today is consuming between 12-15 teaspoons of HFCS daily.

IT IS IN EVERYTHING!

In addition, the Washington Post published an article last January that HFCS is contaminated with mercury – a toxic heavy metal. In the tests that were conducted by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, mercury was found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand name food and beverage products where high fructose corn syrup is listed as the first or second highest ingredient on the food label. The IATP study found the highest levels of mercury were in some snack bars, BBQ sauce, sloppy joe mix, yogurt and chocolate syrup. All with very well-known brands such as Kraft, Hunt’s, Quaker, Hershey’s, Smucker’s and Yoplait.

Lastly, and putting the final nail in the coffin of this dangerous synthetic substance, HFCS is almost always made from genetically modified corn – so those who are regularly consuming foods containing HFCS are consuming genetically modified food.

Health Benefits of Cooking with Grapeseed Oil

Did you know that Grapeseed Oil is one of the healthiest oils to cook with?
Even more than Extra Virgin Olive Oil (an extremely healthful oil, but not when exposed to high heat).
Once you have cooked with grapeseed oil, you will never go back to the others. I recommend replacing cooking oils with grapeseed oil for a healthy kitchen pantry. Wildtree has many different naturally infused grapeseed oils. Roasted Garlic and Butter are my favorites.

Here's why you should switch....

Wildtree’s Grapeseed Oil is EXPELLER PRESSED - NOT solvent extracted like the vast majority of grapeseed oils in the marketplace.

GRAPESEED OIL is made from grape seeds after wine production. It is therefore environmentally sound and requires no new farmland or water to produce. Versatile, delicious and good for you, grapeseed oil allows the pure flavor of fresh food to come through. Its delicate flavor and body make it perfect for sautéing, baking or frying. Try it in salad dressings, on pasta or hard breads, or use as a marinade or baste for the grill.

Health Benefits
♥ There are NO preservatives such as TBHQ or BHT.
♥ It is NOT hydrogenated.
♥ There is NO sodium.
♥ NO trans fatty acids.
♥ NO cholesterol (it actually aids in cholesterol reduction).
♥ It has one of the lowest levels of saturated fats of all oils (1/2 that of olive oil)
♥ It is easily digestible
♥ A good source of Vitamin E Alpha (an important anti-oxidant) (4.3 mg per serving).
♥ Highest concentration of poly (76%) unsaturated acid of any oil.
♥ Helps the body produce High Density Lipoprotein (HDL).
♥ High in Linoleic acid - and its health benefits: - is a fatty acid which acts as a transporter for saturated fats - helps prevent accumulation in the arteries. - also known as Omega-6 and in near identical proportions to mother's milk. - vital to life and cannot be produced by the body alone.

Miracle Frying Oil
Grapeseed Oil is ideal for frying at high temperatures. It may be heated up to 419 degrees (F) without burning, - one of the highest flash points. Deep fry your favorite foods in Wildtree's Grapeseed Oil for a wonderful light crispy taste and cholesterol free frying.

Fantastic dairy-free butter substitute!
I substitute Butter GSO when a recipe calls for melted butter. I cut the amount in 1/2 or a 1/3 and feel good that I am not adding cholesterol to whatever it is I am baking. I've also used Butter GSO when making grilled cheese, scrambled eggs, popcorn or sautéing vegetables. And our Butter GSO is dairy-free!
